Greene tied for the team lead with seven tackles (five solo and one tackle for loss) in the Screaming Eagles' Week 2 win over the Colorado Crush. He added one pass breakup.

In the Week 6 loss to Spokane, Greene had his first career interception. He added three tackles.

Greene started his college career at Southwestern College, lettering two seasons. He led the Jaguars to a 10-1 record, a bowl win and a 27th national ranking in 2012. Greene played both ways that season, catching 17 passes for 222 yards and a touchdown while making 18 tackles and picking off four passes as a cornerback. He also returned six kickoffs for 223 yards, and was named First-Team All-Mountain Conference as all-purpose player.
He then transferred to the University of West Alabama for his final two years of eligibility. As a junior, Greene played in 11 games at cornerback and was a key member of special teams. He recorded 18 total tackles, 13 solo, and intercepted one pass and broke up three more.
During his senior year Greene played in all 11 games recording 15 tackles, 12 solo, and intercepted two passes while breaking up six more.
