In Week 6 vs. Spokane, Ed Burns had two tackles, one pass breakup and one blocked kick.
Against Colorado in Week 7, Burns had two tackles and pass breakup.
After playing high school football in Georgia, Burns attended Elon University. During his freshman season he saw action in nine games, making two starts, recording seven tackles, including six solo stops, and one pass breakup. Burns' sophomore year included 11 starts, and he finished the season with 31 total tackles, 24 of which were solo takedowns.
As a junior he played in all 11 games, earning 10 starts. He finished with 37 total tackles, including 24 solo stops, one interception and three pass breakups. During his senior season, he tallied 53 tackles, including 38 solo stops, two interceptions and six pass breakups.
Burns was on the roster for the Nebraska Danger in 2016.
